Photo Shop Elements 9

Post  old Gray Mare on Sat May 14, 2011 2:22 pm

I have been using the free trial for a couple of weeks. I am ordering it Monday when I get paid. So, Jeff, get ready to answer some questions.

Here's one already:

Is there a way to add a watermark signature with the software? I tried with the text box and couldn't get it to worn. I'd type words but nothing happened. I wonder if it is just because that feature doesn't work in the trial version?

I have not used Elements at all, but I do know it's a watered down version of photoshop. You should be able to create a watermark with elements. The watermark I use is done by what's called an action. Actions are a recording of a series of commands to help speed up the process of mundane tasks. I suspect elements will allow actions but I'm only guessing.

Thanks, I'll look for that command. I know it will be a long time b/f I can afford the full Photo Shop. The guys on Photography Board have assured me I'll be fine with elements. Just using the trial version I know it's better than the little program in Print Shop I have been using.

Yes, you will be fine with elements. Photoshop really isn't designed for photographers so you really don't need all the things photoshop has. Ask your photography friends about actions, they will probably be better at explaining than I am. I'm not a very good teacher unless I have the things in front of me. lol Wink

Now I have no cameras. My house was broken into today and all my camera stuff and my laptop taken. I am not talking about this on Facebook so please don't anyone mention it there. Don't want the whole world to know and be pegged a victim.

I am so sorry to hear this! What kind of world are we living in that this sort of thing happens? I hope they catch the person or persons involved. Was anything else taken?

Oh Donna, HUG!
Why is it the undeserving that get treated this way? I hate thieves. Don't allow the incident to prey on your mind, they aint worth the anguish.

Thanks for the hug. No insurance. Remembered today my little camcorder was in my camera bag too. So my cell phone is the only thing I have to take a pic. But, I'll be OK. I slept fine last night.

I can't believe someone would do this! Well, I guess I can but it's still unsettling. At first I thought it might be someone that knew you had the camera stuff, but sounds like you were a target of opportunity. I hope your neighbors and friends are keeping an eye on you.

The deputy said another house on the road was broken into this week. They got finger prints, so that is hopeful. My friends have all been great!

I am glad to hear they got fingerprints, and not to make light of a serious issue, but I am glad your house wasn't the only one hit. It's probably someone looking for things to sell for drugs. For you and your neighbors, I hope they catch whoever did this. I wish I could do more for you. Crying or Very sad

Donnalee, I'm so sorry about the theft. That's just horrible. It would freak me out just knowing strangers had been in my home!
HUGS!!

I have Photoshop and Ulead PhotoImpact-both full versions. I, personally, prefer PhotoImpact. I've fooled with Photoshop some but it isn't as user friendly as PhotoImpact but you can do the same things as Photoshop. I also have Jasc(Corel) Paintshop Pro but haven't played with it a lot.

Thanks, Mo. I have used the PhotoPro that came with Print Shop, which I bought YEARS ago. But after playing with Elements free trial I saw I could get much better results. You are right, its going to take some getting used to, and I haven't been in much of a mood to mess with it this week Sad
